screenprints
Mica, pyrite, schist & gold.
Mixing blue, red & yellow.
Layers of elements, circles of time
Evolution.
“What is your gold ?”
In this series of mixed media screenprints, I touch on themes relating to elements, time, totality and what is of real value to life.
Each work is a playful exploration of these themes, using mostly primary colours & iridescent colours of gold & iron oxide to represent the glittering gold & pyrite present in the Central Otago landscape, while the hands act as focal point to express ideas around human spiritual connection, internal & external relationships with land & ourselves.
